Then it would be totally Maddie’s year, right? What could be more lucky in the year of the snake but a head full of snakes?
Are you superstitious? I’m a little bit, or maybe that I’m sometimes a bit of a magical thinker. When 2012 rolled into 2013 I didn’t have that great “fresh start” feeling I normally do, and I am hoping that this Year of the Snake is going to start transitioning to a new start any time now! Even a nice gentle slow transition – I know I”m not alone in the “hey I’m still reliving the end of 2012 and what’s up with that?” camp.
So great things about snakes! I totally think that they’re adorable because they always look like they’re smiling! And they’re cuddly in their own way, because you’re nice and warm. Also, in college I was doing Chinese martial arts and my signature (if I could have been said to have had one) style was Snake Form. AND of course, many good associations with my favorite mythological character, Medusa! :)
Oh except water snakes – apparently they’re super poisonous and I find them utterly creepy.

Don’t forget she is half snake from the hips down!
I am year of the Dragon but last year seemed a mixed bag to me, maybe it would have been worse than mixed if I hadn’t been? Eh, my best friend is Snake so we got these two years and their transition all wrapped up if we stick together! :)
Perhaps you need to “shed your old skin” the way Snake does to get the rebirth effect this year? Clean out your place, alter your wardrobe/hairstyle, certain spa treatments I suppose, or change some other routine aspect of your existence might help you jump start those fresh feelings the Snakey way.
They are kind of elegant and graceful when they swim though. Especially sea snakes.
Hmm . . . this *is* year of the water snake though, right?
